Ladies + Gents,
Want the space to look effortless and modern? Throughout this post I will show you the ways to make your room look like it came out of a magazine, without the price tag.
I am all for the pale pink trend mixed with whites, ivory, and grays. There is something so simple and elegant about it, not to mention it keeps the room looking manicured. The important thing to learn is to know where to splurge and where to save. Do you really NEED the new lamp that looks almost identical to the one sitting in the storage closet? I got lucky and a lot of my furniture in my new room is either hand me downs from my sister or from my room at home. It's all about how you accessorize the big pieces to create a new, fashionable look, always using your focal points!

~ Monogram Sign
To create the perfect space, it doesn't require adding thousands of little things and filling it up. Simplicity is key in the world today of home goods. My monogram sign is one of my favorite pieces in my room. Not new, simply repainted from last year's dorm decorations. It makes the room look effortless.
~ Pillows
A pillow can make all the difference in the world. My front pillow is definitely my focal point on my bed and I worked around that. The texture and design make it pop. I splurged on my pillows and bought the new pale pink trend, working around it to make the visual come to life.
~My Mugs
For my desk, my focal point is definitely my two mugs, keeping the room light and fun. I decorated around them, complimenting them with everything I put on my desk.
~Bouquet
Have to stay consistent with color. I am all for the fake flowers than can last me a year rather than a week. They keep the desk looking clean, open, and bright.
~Candles
Lastly, my candles. I am obsessed with candles, especially ones that match my theme. They can immediately change a mood. Light a candle and turn on Michael Bublé and I immediately want to throw on my glasses and finish my work.

~ My Calendar
This calendar is actually my best friend. The pale pink color is on point for my image, it flows perfectly right next to my desk, and not to mention it keeps this busy girl somewhat organized throughout the week. This was another item I bought new for my room this year, inspired by a Pottery Barn Ad.
~Black & White Photos
I have pictures in many places around my room, all being in black and white. They make the room so much more manicured and sleek. Try it. I promise you'll love the uniformity of it all.
It is possible to be inspired by the big names in retail and find things similar to make your room comparable to their displays without spending the big bucks. The funny thing is, if I didn't say where my things were from would you even know they weren't big name brands? Probably not.
I'm a college girl ballin on a budget. Welcome to simply living.
